Position: Research and Development Coordinator

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reporting to: Chief Executive Office

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a resourceful Research and Development coordinator with knowledge across all genres of media with at least 7 years’ experience working in media development and production. We are particularly keen to have someone with a journalism, development media and where possible, social justice background. The persons will be responsible for developing and managing the research and development aspect of a new initiative at OYA Media. This is a consultant position span across 12-month, flexible working term and specific deliverables

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Research and document key issues happening around Nigeria in communities,
governance, and private sectors
 Conduct investigation and prepare a report that can guide production direction
 Leverage on existing reports, analysis, and paper to prepare independent report on
each issue
 Engage key stakeholders involve in issues identified
 Conveying findings accurately and timely
 Providing research to production staff in a clear, concise format
 Providing factual research – checking that all the information used in making a
production is accurate;
 With other related duties assigned

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
 Robust research skills
 Excellent written communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
 Visual thinking and the ability to be adaptable yet disciplined
 Analytical skills
 Knowledge and interest in Nigerian history, literature, culture, media and arts.
 knowledge of media production and communication
 Team working skills and good time management
