Position: Screenwriter

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reporting to: Chief Executive Office

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a skilful screenwriter with great imagination and creativity that transform to telling a story using both dialogue and pictures. Preferably, we will like someone with at least 5 years of experience of writing for TV and film. This person will be responsible to scripting for a new project based on reports generated from research. The screenwriter will work closely with the Research and Development Coordinator to ensure each script prepared presents factual information. This is a consultant position span across 12-month, flexible working term and specific deliverables.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Develop ideas based on research provided
 Create framework, or treatment for each production
 Write /adapt treatment into a script
 Laying out the screenplay to an agreed format
 rewriting the script if necessary
 Creating themes along with production team
 Providing research to production staff in a clear, concise format
 Providing factual research – checking that all the information used in making a
production is accurate;
 With other related duties assigned

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
 Creative and imagination
 Knowledge and interest in Nigerian history, literature, culture, media and arts.
 Excellent written and communication abilities
 Willingness to take feedbacks
 Robust research skills
 Team working skills and good time management
